1. Barcelo Riviera Maya
Barcelo Hotels is planning to open a major new adults-only all-inclusive resort in Mexico.
The new Barcelo Maya Riviera adults-only is slated to join the company’s existing Riviera Maya portfolio when it opens this December.
The new Barcelo Maya Riviera will have a total of 850 guest rooms, all of which will have their own hot tubs on the balconies.
That number will also include 110 swim-up suites and junior suites, along with five restaurants, along with five bars and four pools.
2. Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Cancun
The new Planet Hollywood brand is set to open a new all-inclusive in the Caribbean, this time in Cancun.
Sunwing Travel Group’s Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Cancun is slated to make its debut in “late 2019” in the fast-growing Costa Mujeres area on the Caribbean coast of Mexico.
Set just north of Cancun’s famous Hotel Zone, the property will feature 16 restaurants, including a Guy Fieri’s Burger Joint, along with nine bars, four swimming pools, a lazy river, a kids club, and a mini-golf course, among other amenities.
The new resort is part of a growing all-inclusive hub in Costa Mujeres, which has seen the debut of a number of high-profile all-inclusive resorts in the last year, including Palladium’s new all-inclusive megaresort complex and the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres.
3. Etéreo by Auberge Resorts Riviera Maya
Luxury brand Auberge Resorts has quietly embarked on a broad expansion push in the region since it first entered the Caribbean with the Malliouhana in 2014.
Now, Auberge is adding yet another new property, this time with the management of the Etéreo luxury hotel in the heart of the Riviera Maya.
Featuring 75 contemporary guesthouses, an Auberge Spa and two dining venues, the hotel will be a collection of coral stone structures designed with modern Mayan references and elevated to “seemingly float like islands” among fields of tropical vegetation.
Etéreo will become Auberge’s fourth property in Mexico.
4. La Casa de la Playa, Riviera Maya
Xcaret Hotel says they will open their second hotel, La Casa de la Playa, during the summer of 2019.
Following up on the success of Xcaret Hotel, which opened in 2017, Grupo Experiencias Xcaret plans to open a second boutique property at Destino Xcaret on Mexico’s Riviera Maya this summer. The new, all-adult Casa de la Playa will comprise just 73 suites with private plunge pools.
The hotel will also have four restaurants, two pools, a spa, a mezcaleria for tastings and gifts, a chocolate shop, a wine cellar, and a library. The new resort is expected to expand on Xcaret’s All-Fun Inclusive program.
5. ATELIER Playa Mujeres
Mexico’s ATELIER de Hoteles brand is set to debut a new luxury all-inclusive in the heart of the Riviera Maya.
The new Atelier Playa Mujeres open since April 15 as the company’s first luxury resort.
The all-suite, adults-only hotel is set within the Playa Mujeres development, which is home to an 18-hole Greg Norman-designed golf course, which directly abuts the property.
This modern “All Suites” hotel is designed for adults (16 years of age and over) and is located to the north of Cancun. Offering a spectacular beachfront, it is inside the idyllic Playa Mujeres tourist complex which boasts a magnificent 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman.
