Flowers are the star gift, but have you think where they come from? Sometimes they come from distant countries… then a good

ecologically way to give away flowers will be buying only those that come from the region to to promote local agriculture, or you can choose to buy flowers in a pot too!

If you are thinking on Valentine cards, create them yourself, get inspire choose fabrics, recycle paper, get it colored and there you go a lovely Valentines card hand made, you will become green and your significant other will love the effort.

if you are thinking ong giving some cosmetics to your valentines, you can always choose to buy natural products or those organic faming, another option is to buy a set of aromatherapy oils and natural salts to relax together.

Another idea could be buying clothes, If so there are green clothing or again buying from a local vendor to promote local fabrics & artisans.

So you can end a perfect day with a romantic dinner at home… cook yourself, buy a good organic wine or you may want to take your dinner to the beach and enjoy with your ¨honey¨ by your side watching the starts.

 

San Valentine Ecologico

Las flores son el regalo estrella, pero ¿te has planteado su origen?. A veces vienen de países lejanos. Por eso una buena práctica sería comprar aquellas que vengan de la región con el fin de promover la agricultura local, y contribuir así a que no se

abandonen. O también puedes optar de comprar flores con maseta que tengan raíz.

Si estas pensando en tarjeta, por que no pones manos a la obra, te inspiras y optas por hacer una tarjeta de tu propia creación con papel reciclado, un poco de color, unos listones por aquí y por ahí, y listo. Ayudaras mucho a la causa y no dudo que a tu pareja le encante el esfuerzo.

Quizás estás pensando en regalar algún tipo de cosmético a tu pareja. Puedes comprar productos que cuenten con productos naturales e incluso procedentes de la agricultura ecológica, otra opción es comprarle un set de aroma terapia que traen aceites y sales naturales para relajarse juntos.

También quizás optes por ropa. Si buscas un poco también encontrarás prendas ecológicas. Hay prendas funcionales si quieres hacer algo diferente y divertido.

Pero no hay un buen día sin una buena noche. Así que si cenan en casa podrían acompañar la cena con un vino ecológico y de calidad. Pero si quieren optar por una noche romanticoecológica, la recomendación sería hacerte una cena y llevarte a tu pareja a la playa o algún lugar donde puedan admirar y disfrutar de la naturaleza.

  3. Accomplish the environmental regulations and apply better practices.
  4. Review periodically the objectives of the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Green Partnership Program
  5. Collaborate with the local communities where we develop our commercial activities, which allow us to show our objectives, to foment the change in benefit of the environment and to promote the responsibility between our guests and colleagues.
  6. To promise our guests that we will have their comments and reactions in mind when we review our programs and procedures about environment.

To determine in which areas we can improve and innovate in order to offer an absolute back up to our Green Teams.

That is why; Fairmont Mayakoba has an alternative for companies who are worried for preserving our environment. This initiative invites you and your participants to collaborate choosing these Eco Events, Meetings and Conventions. Our goal is to

MAKE THE DIFFERENCE and together accomplish this commitment that we all have with the environment. Allow us to offer you the following options that will turn your event into an Eco Meeting:

Rooms:

  1. The guests will have in their rooms the option to utilize again their sheets and towels by leaving in the room and bathroom a card explaining them the system, we can print your logo on the cards with an additional recovery cost.
  2. The air conditioner will turn off automatically at the moment that the guest opens the sliding door to the terrace; this will help to save energy and to reduce the damage to the environment.
  3. The rooms have a glass wall in every bathroom to offer natural light inside the room. This will help to save energy.

Food and Beverages:

  1. Our Executive Chef will create menus with products produced by the Maya community in traditional milpa. These products are 100% organics, as they do not contain chemicals. Please consider that these products are a little bit more expensive that the regular ones.
  2. Coffee Station:
    1. Napkins instead of using disposable cups.
    2. Fabric Napkins instead of using disposable ones.
    3. Sugar bowl instead of using personal sugar envelopes.
    4. Cream and Milk will be set up in Jars.
    5. Water will be served personally in order to avoid the plastic bottles.
    6. The paper used in the meeting will be recycled paper at additional cost.
    7. White board instead of regular board.

Experiences:

Tours within the Property: Our Ecology Manager who will share with your guests the information about the Flora and Fauna that lives in the area guides these tours. Maximum 12 people per Group.Tours outside the property: Fairmont Mayakoba and World Heritage Alliance have made an agreement with the Ecological Reserve of Sian Ka’an, where they are provided with training and the necessary materials to offer a historical, ecological and cultural tour to your guests. The guides are native people who have been living in the reserve and will share the knowledge and traditions of the great Maya Culture.

Por estas razones, Fairmont Mayakoba tiene una alternativa para las empresas que se preocupan por conservar el medio ambiente. Esta iniciativa le invita a usted y a sus participantes a colaborar eligiendo la opción de Eventos, Juntas y Convenciones Ecológicas. La finalidad dicha opción es:

HACER LA DIFERENCIA y juntos cumplir ese compromiso que todos tenemos con el Medio Ambiente. A continuación le ofrecemos las siguientes opciones para hacer de su Junta un Evento Ecológico:

 

Habitaciones:

  1. Los huéspedes tendrán en sus habitaciones la opción del re-uso tanto de sábanas como toallas por medio de una tarjeta en la que se le indicará al departamento de Ama de Llaves si desea o no quesean lavadas. Dichas tarjetas se podrán imprimir con el logotipo de su empresa a un costo adicional de recuperación.
  2. El Aire Acondicionado de las habitaciones se apagará automáticamente al momento de abrir la puerta corrediza que lleva al balcón, esto con la finalidad de ahorrar energía y reducir el daño al medio ambiente.
  3. Las habitaciones cuentan con un ventanal en cada baño para que la habitación esté mas iluminada y así evitar el uso de energía eléctrica hasta que ya no haya luz natural.

 

Alimentos y Bebidas:

  1. Nuestro Chef Ejecutivo creará menús con productos producidos por la comunidad Maya en milpa tradicional. Estos productos son 100% orgánicos ya que no contienen químicos y durante su cultivo no se usaron fertilizantes.
  2. Estación de Café; en cada sesión se usarán:
    1. Tazas en lugar de vasos desechables
    2. Servilletas de Tela en lugar de servilletas desechables
    3. Azucarera en lugar de Sobres Individuales de Azúcar
    4. Crema y Leche montados en Cremeras para evitar el uso de Sobres Individuales
    5. Agua servida en Jarras para evitar el uso de botellas de plástico
    6. Uso de Papel Reciclado para sus impresiones
    7. Pintarrón disponible en vez de Rota folio o Pizarron

compartirá con sus invitados información acerca de la Flora y la Fauna que habita en esta área. Grupos de Máximo 12 personas.

  1. Tour Fuera de la Propiedad: Fairmont Mayakoba en Alianza con World Heritage Alliance ha

logrado establecer un acuerdo con la Reserva Ecológica de Sian Ka’an, donde se les provee de capacitación y materiales necesarios para ofrecer un tour histórico, ecológico y cultural. Los guías son gente que ha crecido en la Reserva y compartirá sus conocimientos y tradiciones de la gran Cultura Maya.
